Bush calls Iran 'threat to world peace'
George W. Bush, speaking from occupied Palestine, has spent the day filling the world with lies and rhetoric about the evils of Iran. In a well-publicized visit with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert in Jerusalem, the bantering for war against Iran has resumed.

Ehud Olmert and George Bush [Pravda]
It is not a coincidence that the incident in the Strait of Hormuz took place just before President Bush was to visit Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert. The agenda for America and Israel is to maintain hegemony in the region for the sake of oil and the Judeo-Christian tradition. The victims behind this scheme of global oppression have been the innocent children, women, and men caught up in the raging wars and genocides from Iraq, Afghanistan, and Palestine funded wholly by Israel and America.
With President Bush sitting as a lame duck in the White House, his danger lies not in his inability to pass legislation, but squarely on his ability to push the war button again. Can America be stopped in this endeavor to destroy the world?

The war of words between United States and Tehran continued Wednesday, with President Bush repeating his assertion that Iran is “a threat to world peace.”
The two countries have been trading accusations since a weekend confrontation involving Iranian boats and U.S. Navy warships in the Strait of Hormuz. The United States claims Iranian vessels deliberately sped toward its warships despite warnings to stay away.
Bush’s criticism of Iran came Wednesday during a news conference with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert in Jerusalem. Bush is in the region to encourage the peace process between Israel and the Palestinians.
Bush called the incident “a very dangerous gesture” by Iran and warned the Islamic republic against any escalation.

In view of his very own war-mongering, do you think the irony was lost on him?
Curious George & Jimmy Durante debate how to kill more of the colored people who don’t know what’s what
Too bad the only war the Iran has been in lately is a defensive one…
Iran has released the video of the incident from their side. It was really nice, I think, of the Iranians to be able to speak English, since my guess is the US Warships, in spite of cruising through the Persian Gulf, probably didn’t have anyone on board who could communicate in Farsi.
The Hegemon, for some reason, doesn’t think anyone else’s side of the story is going to get out. Like, wow, the Iranians have video cameras and stuff. What a surprise.
“Bush calls Iran ‘threat to world peace’”
It’s like raaaaaaaiiiiiiiaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiin on your wedding day, it’s something something and you’re already laaaaaaaaaaate!
It is almost beyond belief that the same U.S. Navy that frequently “traded paint” with the Soviet Navy during the “cold war” without wincing, is now “threated” by open boats powered by Yamaha outboards.
Threat to “world peace” indeed.
Laughable.
Peace,
Not so funny:
U.S. ready to counter to Iran threats
Admiral says U.S. will defend ships with ‘deadly force’ against Tehran
Those boats were never within 200 yards of those U.S. ships.
Even packed full with explosives, craft this size would have to be in very close and likely direct contact in order to do any damage to these warships.
Suicide attacks are not their style. Nobody gets a prize for giving the U.S. a legitimate reason to attack.
This should have never been a news story. And we shouldn’t be issuing threats of “deadly force” for boats operating within the law in international waters.
Sometimes no Peace
Meanwhile the dirty motherfucker is threatening to nuke them!!!!
We’ll nuke Iran – Bush promises Israel
US President George W. Bush promised Israel’s opposition leader Binyamin Netanyahu that the United States will join the Jewish state in a nuclear strike against Iran, Israel Radio reported today.
Former Prime Minister Netanyahu, opposition Likud party’s hardline chairman who opposes the US-backed Annapolis peace process, reiterated to President Bush his stance, that a pre-emptive nuclear strike against Iran’s nuclear installations was the only way to stop the Islamic nation’s nuclear weapons ambitions.
“I told him my position and Bush agreed,” Netanyahu told Israel Radio. snip
I didn’t recognize your source, tlder, so I googled it and confirmed it with this
I feel sick.
Bush’s visit was also accompanied by massive bombing in Iraq:
In one of the heaviest aerial bombardments since the US-led invasion in 2003, US bombers and jets on Thursday dropped 47,500 pounds (21,500 kilograms) of explosives on 47 targets in a 10-minute blitz on Arab Jabour, a Sunni rural area on the southern outskirts of Baghdad.
“Huckabee said anyone who challenges the Navy again should be prepared to go to the “gates of hell.” Thompson said anyone testing the Navy might soon meet the “virgins” that Islamic terrorists expect to meet in heaven.”
ffs...
And no one bothers to ask, why, after the NIE, are there warships so close to Iranian waters. We damn well wouldn’t put up with it here.
The U.S. has maintained a near continuous naval presence in the Persian Gulf since the 1960’s and even before.
There is no avoiding close encounters with Iranian naval patrols when entering and leaving the Persian Gulf through the Straits of Hormuz.
The new warnings are basically demanding that the Iranians don’t patrol their own coastline or operate in international waters which is unwarranted, unprecedented and illegal.
Nobody owns the high seas and in order to be a threat these small boats would have to be in extremely close proximity or in contact with the warships in question to be any threat even if they were packed full with explosives.
Once again, the U.S. has seized the initiative to make a mountain of a molehill and thrown down the gauntlet with an unreasonable demand.
Any Iranian vessel within shooting range might now be considered fair game.
The only way for the Iranians to then counter the threat of U.S. naval intrusions is with moored mines in their territorial waters.
A very dangerous proposition.
