Time Magazine published details regarding a possible attack, based on talks with military sources.

WASHINGTON – The US government is planning to launch a diplomatic blitz on Monday regarding the Iranian nuclear issue at the United Nations headquarters in New York, where heads of states and foreign ministers have convened for the general assembly session.

The United States will work to realize the promises made by Russia and China to agree to impose moderate sanctions on Tehran, following its refusal to meet the Security Council ultimatum, which expired at the end of August.

A senior source at the State Department declared over the weekend that Washington was interested in solving the crisis diplomatically, but admitted that his country had no clue what Iran was thinking.

According to the senior source, the government is convinced that Tehran has also failed to make a decision on the issue so far.

And while the US is exerting diplomatic pressure, the Pentagon is preparing for a possibility that US President George W. Bush will eventually instruct the army to attack Iran.

This (attack) would be a disaster of the highest order.

Now starts their new middle east plan. israel trains kurds, aggragates iran border too, keeps Tukey high strung, U.S. attacks iran and they will have the whole area under leash for leeching resources, conveniently removing humans and placing consumers and land leechers of all kind be it petrol or minerals. This will not be the best of decades, well maybe a good decade for most of the americans leaving in fairy land where everythings so nice and sound, international news consisting of dramatically wounded troops. Sorry for the harsh criticisim but it is so.

Oh hell with it, you know what maybe the fricking nation deserves it. Go Bush! Go ahead with the awesome patriotism! Go and completely, utterly, totally wreck the economy forever! Generate more and more and more and more angry people! Go ahead and increase the risks of terrorism! Go for it! You’re the best thing ever to have happened!

Please, take away those useless things like the Geneva Convention, remove the USA from the UN, may as well abolish the Constitution and Bill of Rights while you’re at it as they just get in the way of fighting those evil Islamofacists who are EVERYWHERE! They hate me! They hate my freedom! In fact, put all Muslims in cages and cells, especially the Arab ones! Because they want to drive us into the sea!

Ooh yeah baby! Go for it! Kill hundreds of thousands of “innocent” people they’re only dirty ragheads who are really facists! We need more people for all this awesomeness? No problemo! Draft us all in, after all why would we complain about that?! It’s to fight for freedom and our very existance!! Surely everyone would love to be drafted?! We can imprison the dissenting ones because obviously they love to have butt sex with the evil terrorists! Go draft! Go USA! Go USA!

We are stretched so thin in our voluntary military, that I tactically do not see how this could be possible. Not a single division is battle-ready. Can you say conscription? I knwe you could.

I’m still wondering why the military is still short of enlistments if so many Republicans and Christians believe in this administrations policy’s…

I think it is because they are all in here trying to convince us to go and enlist.

My family has fought in every war and so called conflict since WWI. We know better about this one.

Kcoztips @ 09/20/06 02:42:21

I’m looking forward to this with a sick fascination. Obviously, war is never something that should be cheered on… and I know that the damage that this war will do is immense. However, the war is definately going to go down, none of us can stop it and I firmly believe that it will be Bush’s Stalingrad – in that it will signify the start of the downfall of the United States. From the ashes, I hope that a new body politic will emerge… hopefully humbled by the excesses of their (hopefully hanged) ex-leaders.

So the US can promise to use conventional weapons, then nuc Iran and proclaim the the subsequent radiation is proof of Iranian guilt. Why, if the US gave Iran fuel in the first place, it might even have some of the same batch to use.

I just hope it’s put off until Canada can get rid of shit for brains… I mean Harper…

uberche @ 09/20/06 07:37:38

Unfortunatly, Prime Minister Asshole is here for a while. His problems in Que are good but who do we vote for if his minority fails? The librerals don’t have their shit together yet. I will say that it looks like ‘infomercial Jack” may have finally done away with the handlers that sucked out half his brain during the last election. Judging from this parliamentary session so far, he may have actually grown his balls back too! But then again the recent NDP convention tells me they are still struggling for some unity of vision.
Canadians never vote people in. We are too reactionary and prefer to wait until the current gov’t pisses us off enough to punish them. (trudeau, mulroney, martin the ndp in b.c. ...)
Unfortunatly the Harper neo-cons have the only clear vision and Harper has done a very good job of muzzeling the rest of his fascist cabal. Untill he shows his true colours, and annoys the west, we’re stuck with him…

There is something brewing with UN General Assembly. Kofi Annan wants to finish his term with a major reform with the Security Council. First, NAM is taken out of mothballs then Iran’s President delivers his impassionate plea for the oppressed.

As any (very) skilled politician, he is playing in the shadows. We may expect the General Assembly to be invited to reform the Security Council before any such thing happens.

mikecimerian @ 09/20/06 08:52:03

All right! I’ll make some popcorn…
